The Madhya Pradesh Government’s backward classes welfare department has made a provision of Rs 22 crore this financial year for the scholarship given to the Backward Classes for studies abroad.
This scheme is being implemented to ensure adequate opportunities for education abroad for the backward class students.
The financial assistance is being given to the students mainly for studying in the universities of America, England and other European countries.
Financial assistance is provided by the department to the selected students belonging to backward classes to study abroad in postgraduate courses, PhD and other professional courses. Every year 50 students from backward classes are given opportunities to study abroad under the scheme. In the year 2022-23, an amount of about Rs 8 crore was spent by the department as fee reimbursement.
