Grocery grains in stores at reasonable prices are only given to those who have taken both doses to fight COVID-19
The government of Madhya Pradesh has decided that subsidized or free food grains in all stores will only be distributed at reasonable prices to people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
An order from the Ministry of Food and General Procurement of 7 November 2021 states that “beneficiaries must be informed that both doses of vaccine are mandatory to benefit from the scheme”.
The state government started a massive vaccination on Wednesday.
“Around 6.50 lakh injections had been given as of 1 pm,” Madhya Pradesh’s Public Relations Department said.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said all citizens to those who took the first dose but missed the second dose, should come for vaccination.
Several lower administrations and businesses have assisted state governments with innovative steps to increase vaccination rates.
An official said Namkin and Sev (traditional savory) traders in the Ratlam area of western Madhya Pradesh had gathered to say that they would only serve vaccinated customers. Their area is famous for savory food production. About 76% of the district’s population has been vaccinated, the official said.
Indore’s commercial capital barred those who had not taken the vaccine from entering several popular locations. Some of the places are Chappan Dukkan (local food market), Indore Zoo, and public park. People who are not vaccinated are not allowed to use government intercity and intercity buses.
In the state temple city of Ujjain, unvaccinated pilgrims are not allowed to make reservations at hotels, huts, and dharamshalas.
In the Gwalior neighborhood, several gas stations began refusing to serve customers who did not take the two doses.
Madhya Pradesh administered 3.51 lakh doses of vaccine Tuesday, up to 7.62 million doses of vaccine administered in the state. The current goal is to have a second dose of the vaccine available to all eligible individuals by December 31, an official said.
Mr. Chouhan held a review meeting attended by the Minister of Health and Welfare, Prabhuram Chowdhary, Minister of Medical Education, Vishwas Sarang, and senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Health.
