Shivraj Singh Chauhan led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh presented its 2021-2022 budget for the state on Tuesday second March. The Budget was tabled first digital budget in the assembly in Madhya Pradesh, Minister of Finance Jagdish Devda. It was read from a tablet marked ‘Made in India’ in compliance with the budget resolution. This decision was concluded by a meeting of the Cabinet headed by the CEO.
The total budget focuses on keeping Madhya Pradesh self-sufficient. The two lakh 41 thousand 27 crore rupee budget is described as a step towards making the state self-reliant. Finance Minister Devda submitted the budget to the Assembly, claiming that it had been budgeted to keep all parts of society in mind. The Budget focuses on health, schooling, medicine, highways, jobs, drinking water, etc.,
The budget session of MP state assembles began on 22 February the COVID-19 guidelines were implemented at the State Assembly were convened by an all-party conference. The decision to run the Assembly in its entirety was made, while the social isolation and facial masking requirements are obligatory.
Key focuses of MP Budget 2021:
1. Nal Jal Yojana, Samuh Nal Jal Yojana – Rs 8,000 crore
2. Water resources department – Rs 6,434 crore
3. PWD – Rs 7,342 crore
4. Narmada valley development- Rs 2,413 crore
5. Schools’ development – Rs 1,500 crore. 350 schools to be opened.
6. 24,000 teachers to be recruited
7. 105 railways over bridges provisioned
8. Nine new medical colleges proposed
9. Bhopal-Indore metro – Rs 262 crore
10. 4,500 MW solar plants in offing
11. MBBS seats will increase by 1235 in the span of the next two years.
12. Under MP Education Budget 2021, 2400, school teachers will get recruited in a years’ time.
13. Two engineering and Five Polytechnic colleges will be given the grant of the school of excellence.
14. Transport service will be provided to the five tribal-dominated districts to facilitate students travelling from villages to schools as a part of MP Education Budget 2021.
15. At Aathner in Betul, Pali of Umaria, Birsa of Balaghat, Jhabua and Dharampuri in Dhar district, students will be transported from home to school through bus or other transport facilities from the next session.
