In order to develop awareness and understand constitutional values, fifteen journalists from Madhya Pradesh have been awarded ‘Vikas Samvad Constitution Fellowship 2022’.
These fifteen journalists from different fields, media institutions and experience will work towards developing their understanding of the Constitution, dialogue, practical initiative, advocacy and on constitutional values during this fellowship.
This fellowship has been awarded by Vikas Samvad, an institute working as a social development, research, documentation and dialogue group.
For fellowship, journalists were selected from various regions of the state from amongst the applications received and the jury of subject experts.
In the jury of subject experts, senior journalist-editor of MP Chandrakant Naidu, eminent editor NK Singh and eminent journalist Sravani Sarkar presented the concept notes of the applicants and their experiences, understanding of constitutional values and the work done so far in this direction.
Journalists have been selected for the fellowship on the basis of their work.
Senior journalists of the state Kirti Rana and KS Shaini have been invited for the fellowship in the senior category for the one-year ‘Vikas Samvad Constitution Fellowship 2022’.
They will help in creating active awareness in the society towards constitutional values on basis of their long experience in journalism.
In senior journalist category Amita Nirav (Independent Journalist/Literary, Indore), Anoop Dutta (Independent Journalist, Bhopal), Mamta Yadav (Founder Editor Malhar Media, Bhopal), Sachin Chaudhary (Founder Editor Bundeli Bauchar, Bhopal), Shefali Pandey (Senior Correspondent, ETv Bharat, Bhopal), Shubham Baghel (Resident Editor, Patrika, Shahdol), Yogesh Pandey (Special Correspondent, Dainik Bhaskar, Bhopal) and Photojournalist Abrar Khan (Chief Photographer, Navdunyia, Bhopal) have been selected.
In young journalists category , Akshay Nema (District Bureau Chief, Deshbandhu, Narmadapuram), Kashiram Varkade (Independent Journalist, Mandla), Kashif Kakvi (State Representative, NewsClick, Bhopal), Ruchi Verma (Senior Correspondent, The Sutra, Bhopal) and Satish Bharatiya (Independent Journalist, Sagar) has been selected.
Giving this information, Director and Secretary, Vikas Samvad, Sachin Jain said it is enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India that the basic objective of establishing the Constitution is to provide social, economic and political justice, dignity, equality of opportunity and freedom. But this fact is also not hidden from anyone that there are still more steps to be taken for effective implementation of constitutional values like equality, freedom.
