Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Prem Singh Patel has said that we should have compassion and love for the animal.
Animals and birds also play an important role in the balance of the environment, he said.
The earth does not belong to humans alone, other creatures are also its equal partners, he said.
Minister Patel said that the objective of World Animal Day is to improve animal welfare standards and to develop compassion among the general public towards animals.
He appealed to the livestock owners to treat their animals with love and like family members on occasion of World Animal Welfare Day.
It is often seen that when the cow becomes unusable, people abandon them on the roads in an unclaimed state, he said.
Due to this, there are more road accidents and there is loss of life of both the cow and the vehicle driver, he said.
Minister Patel told the livestock owners that the vaccine has been made available in sufficient quantities in the state to prevent lumpy skin disease. Vaccination continues on a war footing.
You should also take full care of the health of your cattle and the cleanliness of the place, he said.
