Jabalpur Division, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vivek Sheel on Wednesday instructed the officials to withdraw the public announcement done at the Jabalpur Railway Station related to penalise the passengers who do not wear the face mask as of there is no such instructions from the government.
The Jabalpur railway division comes under the West Central Railway Zone (WCR).
Sheel give the instructions to the officials amid the press conference was in progress after a journalist queried the public announcement is done in the Jabalpur Railway Station to penalise the passengers who do not wear the face mask as of now there is no such instructions from the union or state governments.
The DRM told the presspersons that there is no such instruction from the government to wear the mask therefore there was no reason to do the public announcement in this regard.
He instructed the officials present in the press conference to make the public announcement relevant to the need of the hour instead of continuing the old public announcement on wearing face mask.
The Union government few days ago issued instructions to the state governments nationwide to be cautious over the incidents of rise in COVID cases abroad.
The officials informed that 15 railway stations of the Jabalpur Railway Division are shortlisted for development under the Amrut Station Scheme including Katni, Mudwara, Katni South, Sagar, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Pipariya, Gadarwara, Shreedham, kareli, Rewa, Sihora, Beohari, Maihar and Bargawan.
The officials informed that the pace of development of the Madan Mahal railway station is affected due to the Smart City project.
