The MP police arrested main accused Jagdish Patel in connection with killings of three family members in firing on Tuesday morning in village Devran, Damoh district.

The police took the action after receiving information about death of three members of the family in firing on Tuesday morning in village Devran of Damoh district.

Superintendent of Police D.R. Teniwar told there was a dispute between the families of Ghamandi Ahirwar and Jagdish Patel. Jagdish Patel family opened fire on the family of Ghamandi Ahirwar in which three persons of the family died.

The police registered the case under the SC/ST Atrocities Act and take up the investigation. The Police teams are sent to different places to track the remaining accused.

The incident is being closely investigated. Search is on for other accused.

As soon as the news of the incident was received, a team of officers including Commissioner Sagar Mukesh Shukla, IG Anurag, Collector S. Krishna Chaitanya, Superintendent of Police DR Teniwar reached the village and took first hand information of the incident and instructed the officials for action.

The Police force has been deployed in the village for security.

Ghamandi Ahirwar (60), his wife Rajpyari (58), Manak Lal Ahirwar (30) of village Devran died in the firing. While injured Mahesh Ahirwar has been admitted in the district hospital for treatment.

Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Shukla told that the officials met the women members of the victim’s family. The police and administration has taken prompt action into the incident.

The Gram Panchayat provided Rs. 15000 to kin to the deceased for funeral.

IG Anurag said that the senior officers immediately reached the village after getting information about the incident. The incident is being investigated with sensitivity.

The main accused Jagdish is arrested, he said.

Efforts are on to nab the other accused as soon as possible, he said.

Collector S. Krishna Chaitanya told that financial assistance will be given to the victim’s family as per the provision.
