Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the meeting of the organizing committee of Mahakal Lok in Ujjain on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is a moment of great pride and happiness for all of us that today the first meeting of the organizing committee for the dedication of ‘Mahakal Lok’ is being held.
He said that the development work of Mahakal temple complex expansion plan is to be done in two phases. In both these phases, development and beautification works worth more than Rs.800 crore will be done.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the works of the first phase on October 11.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the dedication program of Mahakal Lok is for everyone. It is an event to unite the society.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that many development works have been done in Ujjain.
He said that the devotees coming to the Mahakal temple for darshan, should get to see such structures, in which there is a vision of Shivlok.
With this view, the Mahakal complex is being expanded. Its outline had already been made. After consultation with all the sections, the action plan of the first phase has taken shape, which will be dedicated in the month of October.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the name of Mahakal Corridor has been changed to ‘Shri Mahakal Lok’ with everyone’s consent.
The committee members were informed about the major decisions taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held in Ujjain today.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the airstrip at Datana would be expanded. Sewerage water will be diverted to keep Kshipra river clean and always flowing.
Apart from this, the police band playing in the ride of Lord Mahakaleshwar will be expanded.
More members will be added to it. Chief Minister Chouhan also took necessary suggestions from the seers and the people present regarding the dedication ceremony.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that he is recalling the time of Simhastha.
At that time the idea of Mahakal Maharaj Temple expansion plan came up, besides developing Maharajwada as a heritage hotel, beautification of Rudra Sagar, developing Hawkers Zone, expanding the western route of Rudra Sagar and other important works should be done.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the dedication program of ‘Shri Mahakal Lok’ is for everyone.
People from different communities, class and religion should join and make necessary contribution.
For this purpose, the organizing committee is constituted for the programme.
The Chief Minister said that in order to give grandeur to the program, necessary suggestions from all would be considered in the meeting held today.
An atmosphere of celebration will be created before the program. Various programs will begin from October 5.
Local holiday in Ujjain on 11 October
Chief Minister Chouhan said that common people can make their suggestions in writing to the collector.
All suggestions will be considered by the members of the committee. The Chief Minister said that October 11 will be a local holiday in Ujjain.
Sub-committees should be formed by the organizing committee for various tasks. There will be a Deepotsav in the city on October 11 before Diwali.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that to add grandeur to the dedication ceremony, the ride of Lord Mahakaleshwar would be given a grand look on Dussehra. Rural areas of Ujjain will be lit up.
Sundarkand and bhajans will be organized at different places. Play will be staged on the appearance of Lord Mahakaleshwar.
Cultural programs and confluence of saints will take place at different places across the city. Along with this, Rudrabhishek and other religious events and rituals will be performed on 10th and 11th October.
Saints also made suggestion in the meeting of the dedication programme committee. Madhav Ranganathacharyaji Maharaj, Mahant Rameshwardas, Balayogi Umeshnathji Maharaj, Mahant Shantiswaroopanandji Maharaj, Acharya Shekharji Maharaj, Mahant Vineet Giriji, Chief Priest of Mahakaleshwar Temple Pt. Ghanshyam Guru, Makhan Singh, Minister in charge Jagdish Deora, MP Anil Firozia, MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Bahadur Singh Bormundla, Iqbal Singh Gandhi, Vishal Rajouria, representatives of ISKCON temple, Collector Ashish Singh and other dignitaries and administrative officers were present.
