Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate and perform Bhumi-Pujan of various construction works under Vikas Parv in Anuppur district on August 9.

Chief Minister Chouhan will also meet citizens under Jan-Darshan.

Bhumi-Pujan proposed for 660 MW power plant

There has been a steady increase in electricity production of the state. Also a significant increase in energy production in the last one and a half decade as per the future requirements.

Using alternative energy sources, hydro power capacity has also been increased by starting units of solar power, wind power.

In this sequence, approval was given by the Cabinet Ministers for Amarkantak Thermal Power Plant (Chachai) of 660 MW capacity in Anuppur district.

The proposed cost of this plant is Rs 4665 crore 87 lakh. Strategic efforts have been made for power availability as per the long term power demand of the state.

This initiative taken by the state government for this plant is also an important step in this direction.

Chief Minister Chouhan has given instructions to senior officials for necessary preparations for the Bhoomi-pujan of the plant.
