Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation of a new airport in Datia at a cost of Rs 29 crore 30 lakhs and announced to open a college, grant Nagar Panchayat status to Basai in Datia and sent a proposal to the central government to rename Khiria Faizulla village as Khiria Sarkar. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia presided over the programme whereas Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra was present as a special guest.
Water Resources and Fishermen Welfare Minister Tulsi Silavat, Minister of State for Public Works and in-charge of the district Suresh Dhakad, Chairman of Bamboo Board Ghanshyam Pirounia, MLA Bhander Raksha Santram Sirauniya and Surendra Budyaulia etc. were present on stage.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Datia recorded maximum development in the state. The credit for this goes to relentless efforts of Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra and the grace of Maa Pitambara. An amount of Rs 1,000 per month is being deposited in the accounts of women, which will gradually be increased to Rs 3,000 per month. This is not just money, it is a means to ensure dignity and rights to the women. Women will not have to depend on anyone for finances. The Chief Minister said that Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign was started from Datia, the land of Maa Pitambara.
The Chief Minister said that the government will now pay the fees of students studying in the Medical College and Engineering College of the state. The Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana is being launched from August 22 to provide employment along with stipend to the youth, in which ITI and 12th class pass youth will be given a stipend between Rs.8 thousand and 10 thousand.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that today is a historic day for Datia district. Once the new airport is built in Datia, the facility of landing 19 seater aircraft will be available. Air services will also be started from the airport to Khajuraho and Bhopal. The new airport of Gwalior will also be ready in 15 months.
Scindia said that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has started providing air services in urban areas as well as religious destinations. Facility of new airport will also be available in Srinagar-Jammu.
Maa Pitambara Peeth in Datia has been the center of Shaktipeeth since ancient times.
His grandmother Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, who was the chairperson of the Trust, would visit the Peeth and offer prayers.
Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said that Chief Minister Chouhan left no stone unturned in the development of Datia for which we are grateful to him. Inspired by the Chief Minister, a new tradition of celebrating Gaurav Diwas and Prakatotsav of Maa Pitambara was also started in Datia.

Airport of India Chairman Sanjeev Kumar, Former MLA Pradeep Agarwal, Dr. Asharam Ahirwar and Madan Kushwaha, District Panchayat President Indira Dhiru Dangi, Janpad Panchayat President Kanti Brijesh Yadav, Municipality President Shanti Prashant Dhengula and other public representatives were present.
