Cyclist Asha Malviya of Rajgarh district called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in Delhi today. Malviya had started a solo women’s cycle journey from Bhopal on November 1, 2022 on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day with the aim of awakening women’s safety and women’s empowerment. The journey concluded on 15 August, 2023 in Delhi. Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated Malviya for this achievement by honouring her with angavastram. He openly lauded Madhya Pradesh’s Asha for her high spirit, courage and purpose of the yatra.
Asha covered a distance of about 25 thousand kilometers across 30 states and union territories on cycle. During her journey, she met the Chief Ministers, Governors, officials of different states besides interacting with 5 lakh school students.
Asha has completed the journey on Roam-2 hybrid bike equipped with state-of-the-art GPS provided by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
Cyclist Asha’s journey passed through Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur (Senapati Border), Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh (Kargil border) and Rajasthan and concluded in Delhi.
