Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held discussions with leading entrepreneurs of the country at the Textile Round Table Conference in New Delhi regarding investment in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

Chief Minister Chouhan invited entrepreneurs for the upcoming Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) to be held in Indore on January 11-12, 2023 and discussed in detail the investment opportunities in the textile and apparel sector in the state.

Abundance of natural resources in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has rich water, forest, mineral and agricultural wealth.

With strong will-power, there has been an excellent development of transport and energy infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh.

He said that the contribution of Madhya Pradesh in the country’s GDP has increased from 3.6 percent to 4.6 percent.

This year the growth rate of Madhya Pradesh at present price has been 19.76 percent, which is the highest in the country.

The irrigated area in the state has increased from 7.50 lakh hectares to 45 lakh hectare.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that Madhya Pradesh is an investor friendly state, where all the basic facilities for setting up industrial units are available. There is enough land bank for setting up the industry.

Electricity is available 24X7, with more importance being given to renewable power generation like wind and solar power.

The largest solar power plant of 750 MW capacity is installed in Rewa. Now a floating solar power plant of 600 MW capacity is being set up at Omkareshwar Dam.

Skilled Manpower

To provide skilled manpower to the industries, a Global Skill Park has been established in the state with assistance from Singapore. 10 new ITIs have been opened at the divisional level, so that skilled manpower can be easily made available to the industries as per their requirement.

Easy Paper Work in ‘Ease of Doing’

In ‘Ease of Doing’ all the permissions for setting up industries are easily given through single window system, besides investment policies have been simplified, which has made setting up industries easier.

Changes are being made in the policies related to establishment of industries from time to time after discussing with the industrialists.

Efforts of ‘Survey Bhavantu Sukhinaha’ through investment promotion

Chief Minister Chouhan said that efforts are being made for ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaha’ through investment promotion in the state. Industries will be established in the state with investment promotion, due to which more and more people will get employment opportunities. If the means of livelihood are easily available, everyone’s life will be easy and happy.

Madhya Pradesh makes everyone its own

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace. There is mutual harmony here.

Whoever comes here, the state makes it its own. All the industrialists coming from every direction are warmly welcomed here.

Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon also addressed the conference.

Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Sanjay Kumar Shukla apprised the representatives present with the industrial scenario of Madhya Pradesh.

Secretary, Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Anurag Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Upendra Prasad Singh and senior officers of the Central Government were present.

Entrepreneurs praised the ease of doing business in Madhya Pradesh, thanking them for the speed of land allotment and approvals, quick response of the administration, and excellent industrial infrastructure. Entrepreneurs also gave suggestions to improve the industrial scenario of the state.
