Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the PESA Act is a new revolution on the land of the state. The poor tribal brothers and sisters have been given rights over water, forest and land. The state government will now run from the village chaupal.

Chouhan was addressing a special gram sabha at village Nishana of Gram Panchayat Nanda of tribal block Bhimpur of Betul district on Friday.

He made the tribal community aware of the rights they have got from the PESA Act in Chaupal.

Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel, MP Durgadas Uike, MLA Yogesh Pandagre and other public representatives and a large number of tribal community were present.

The tribal group present in the Gram Sabha expressed their gratitude to Chouhan by saying “Mawa Nate, Mawa Raj” meaning “Mera Gaon-Mera Raj” in the local Gondi language and presented a thank you picture.

Village goal unanimously passed the proposal for collection and sale of tendu leaves

Chouhan thanked the gram sabha of village Nishana for unanimously passing the proposal for collection and sale of tendu leaves. He told the Forest and Revenue Department and the local people’s representatives to provide full cooperation to the Gram Sabha in the work of collecting and selling tendu leaves. It is worth mentioning that in the new provisions of the PESA Act, various committees have been formed in the village target, in which pnd dispute resolution committee, forest resources planning and control committee and other committees have also been formed. Along with this, a proposal was also passed to make village Nishana a drug-free village with everyone’s cooperation and inspiration.

Rs 15 lakh distributed to 40 families of Forest Protection Committee Tavardhana.

Chouhan distributed a check of Rs 15 lakh to 40 families of Forest Protection Committee Tawdhana in the Gram Sabha. It is noteworthy that the bamboo has been sold by the committee itself.

The committee collected an amount of one crore rupees in the last 3 years. Chouhan also released the guidebook of Peace and Disputes Redressal Committee of Police Department Betul.

Chouhan informed the villagers about the provisions of the PESA Act in the Gram Sabha. He explained in detail the rights of water, forest and land to the tribal community after the implementation of this act.

The Chief Minister said that the villagers should be aware of the PESA Act and use their rights, so that self-reliance can be brought in the village.
