Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that PESA rule is not a ritual, it is a campaign to change the lives of tribal brothers and sisters.
Tribal society is an integral part of Indian culture, he said.
Chouhan said they will not be left behind in the race for development. The basic needs of development in my mind were the yearning to provide road, electricity, water facilities and to improve the living conditions. Various aspects are being taken care of for the development of the tribal class.
Chouhan was addressing the district and block coordinator training and workshop related to PESA rules at Regional Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Training Center located at Barkhedi Kalan on Tuesday. Madhya Pradesh PESA Rules Training- Workshop will be held till February 15.
Chouhan said that I am happy that you have made up your mind to become PESA co-ordinator after getting better education. He said that progress is pacing up in every field in the state. He apprised about various schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Bhu-Adhikar and Ladli Laxmi Yojana. He said that Ladli Bahna scheme has been made recently. This scheme will prove effective in reducing the level of malnutrition and empowering the sisters. Under this scheme, one thousand rupees will be given in the account of the sisters of poor families. If the sisters are strong then the family, the state and the country will be strong. PESA rule has been made only to change the lives of people. Now no one will be able to grab the land of tribal brothers and sisters by deceit. People coming from outside will have to inform the Gram Sabha. If the tribal class has the right on forest produce, then their economic empowerment will also happen.
Chouhan said that the participants of the workshop should train and encourage others. Read the PESA rules properly and explain them to the people in the village. He said that this is a campaign to connect our rights and the society. The power of the youth has to be created. If you have got a chance, then work with yearning and longing in your mind. There is no work of greater virtue than this. Along with PESA, you should also understand other schemes, so that people can be explained about them. We have decided that the people of Baiga, Bharia, Saharia tribes will be given cows and buffaloes, the government will give 90 percent of the amount under the scheme.
14 district and 70 block co-ordinators participated in this workshop of Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Chouhan got the introduction of all the district co-ordinators. Chouhan asked what is your thinking behind becoming PESA Co-ordinator. The trainees conveyed their views. Chouhan encouraged everyone by taking a group photo.
