Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Prem Singh Patel said that all districts should keep adequate stock of animal medicines and ensure vaccination.
In the departmental meeting held under the chairmanship of Patel, it was informed that in view of lumpy skin disease, the Finance Department has allotted the amount a month prior for the purchase of medicines in all the districts.
Veterinarians are constantly being made aware.

Control room and toll free numbers have been set up at the state level. Instructions are being circulated continuously.
Veterinarians have been told that as soon as animals develop mild fever and symptoms of lumpy, they should contact the nearest veterinary hospital-dispensary or control room at Bhopal on telephone number 0755-2767583 and toll free number 1962 immediately. Lumpy gets cured with immediate treatment.
So far, out of 7 thousand 686 affected animals in the state, 5 thousand 432 animals have been cured of lumpy disease.
It was informed that it is difficult to save animals whose treatment is delayed or who have been infected with pneumonia.
Minister Patel apprised that lumpy disease is contained in Madhya Pradesh due to the instant preventive measures ensured in bordering districts after the information of occurrence of this disease in the neighboring states.
Minister Patel and Additional Chief Secretary Kansotia also reviewed the departmental plans district and block wise. Director Dr. R.K. Mehia, Managing Director State Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation H.B.S. Bhadauria and senior officers from all the divisions and districts of the state were present in the meeting.
Union Secretary praised the measures adopted against Lumpy in Ujjain
Joint Director of Ujjain division informed that in Ujjain last week, the Union Secretary Shri Jatindra Nath Swain reviewed the efforts taken against lumpy in Ujjain district immediately after its emergence in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Appreciating the efforts made for the prevention of the disease in the state, he said that it would also be sent to other states as a model.
It may be noted that in Ujjain, immediately after issuing prohibitory orders, sale and purchase of animals, animal haat market and movement of animals was stopped.
Leave of all officers and employees of the department was suspended. Vaccination has been done in all gaushalas.
Special vigil must in unaffected districts
Minister Patel directed that the districts adjoining Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have been affected by lumpy skin disease.
The villages of Sagar, Rewa and Jabalpur division are still untouched. Special vigil should be taken in these districts.
While praising the veterinary doctors and departmental officers and employees, he said that in the same way, they should continue to tour in their respective areas.
