‘Agyat’ a first of its kind painting from Madhya Pradesh will be part of the historical paintings collection of renowned painters of India at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education Mumbai a national centre of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
The ‘Agyat’ is artwork of Awdhesh Bajpai a resident of Jabalpur is first painter from Madhya Pradesh whose painting will be part of historical collection of Indian paintings and the same will display permanently.
It is noteworthy that in this collection, the artworks of famous painters of the country are selected by a jury of scientists and renowned painters. The HBCSE was founded by Dr. Homi Bhabha in 1945. Dr. Bhabha’s concept was to bring art and science together to the world.
Dr. Bhabha himself was a good painter. This collection houses all the historical painters from India including those paintings and murals of MF Hussain, Bendre, Souza, Ara, Hebbar, Raja, Basne Sudhir Butt, Gaitonde, Jamini Roy are prominent.
Awdhesh’s painting will be displayed in the new collection – HBCSE has chosen Awdhesh Bajpai’s portrait for its new collection and display. His picture is related to scientific concept. In the paintings of Bajpai, an attempt has been made to sensitize the human consciousness and this is the basis of his depiction. Awadhesh’s pictures are based on dotism or pointillism which is conceptualized from points, shapes and molecules.
Awdhesh Bajpai is carrying painting for more than three decades. His exhibitions is organized in many art galleries across the country.
This year, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Harishankar Parsai, a calendar based on his painting has become quite popular.
