Dr. Santosh Soni one of four accused doctors was arrested from Tala in Umaria district in culpable homicide not amounting to murder case of fire incident in the New Life Multispecialty Hospital Jabalpur.
The doctor was produced before the court and sent to the jail, while search is going on for remaining three accused doctors.
During the raid on basis of information of a reliable informer, Dr. Santosh Soni (36) was taken in custody with help of the Umaria police from Tala and brought to the police station Vijay Nagar in Jabalpur.
City Superintendent of Police Garha Tushar Singh said on investigation in the incident of 8 deaths and 5 injuries in the fire accident at New Life Multi Specialty Hospital on August 1 last.
The case was registered under sections 304, 308 and 34 of IPC against the New Life Multispecialty Hospital Director and proprietor Dr. Nishist Gupta, Dr. Suresh Patel, Dr. Sanjay Patel and Dr. Santosh Soni and Assistant Manager Ram Soni in Vijay Nagar Police Station.
Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Jabalpur Siddhartha Buhuguna for the arrest of the accused, teams of crime branch and police station staff were constituted under the police station in-charge Vijay Nagar Sandeep Thakur.
Accused assistant manager Ram Soni (29) was arrested and sent to the jail in judicial custody, the doctors were at large and being searched.
