MP. Crores of rupees have been scam in power purchase in Madhya Pradesh.
This scandal was exposed when the state’s electricity companies presented their annual revenue requirement before the Electricity Regulatory Commission. According to the report, the state electricity companies have paid Rs 6,626 crore to the other power producers in the last three years, while they did not buy electricity from one unit. The Electricity Regulatory Commission has invited objections on this report. After this, the citizen Consumer Guide for Jabalpur has written a letter to the Commission demanding a thorough probe into the scam. Complainaner Dr P.G. Najapande said that this power scam should be examined seriously. If the Electricity Regulatory Commission does not take action after investigating the matter, then we will complain about the matter with the Lokayukta.
The failure of the Power Purchase Agreement!
The state convener of the Citizen Consumer Guide Forum says that the power companies of Madhya Pradesh have made the maximum power purchase agreement from the power generation companies. There was already sufficient electricity in the state, due to which the power capacity could not be used at present.
