Five persons accused of attacked and murdered a person over a personal dispute under police station Panagar of Jabalpur district were caught within a few hours of the incident.
The police seized sticks and knives used in the incident are seized.
On the information of the injured being brought to the government hospital for treatment in the clash at village Kasahi crossing on 19-11-2023 under limits of the police station Panagar, the police station incharge Panagar Ajay Bahadur Singh along with other staff reached.
Sameer Shripal, age 18 years, resident of village Kasahi, informed the police about the incident.
That he (Sameer) runs a tea shop near Kasahi Colony Government School. On 19-11-23 at around 9-40 pm, he closed his shop and was going towards his residence.
He reached near Jageshwar Shripal’s house at Kasahi Colony crossing, where Abhishek Gond, Pooja Gond and Kaushalya Bai Rajak and one 16 year old teenager of the village came together with sticks in their hands and were allegedly beating his cousin Saurabh Shripal, aged 23 years, on hearing the voice, one Jittu of the village also came there and other villagers also came. Then Jittu Bhumiya one of the accused stabbed Saurabh with a knife. The accused hurt him in the stomach and chest, due to which Saurabh fell on the ground, while Jitu Bhumiya hurt him with a knife in the back.
Sameer told the police that he and Ajju Shripal went to protect Sourabh, Pooja Gond hurt him in the elbow of his left hand and Kaushalya Rajak hurt him in the head. He inflicted injuries with the stick and other people of the village also came, seeing whom the accused persons ran towards the canal. Saurabh was taken on a motorcycle to the Government Hospital Panagar for treatment, where the doctor checked and declared Saurabh Shripal dead. On the report, an offense under Section 302, 34 IPC was registered and taken into consideration, the police said.
Superintendent of Police, Jabalpur, Aditya Pratap Singh took the incident seriously and ordered for the immediate arrest of the accused. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sonali Dubey and City Superintendent of Police Adhartal Priyanka Karcham, a team was formed under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Panagar Ajay Bahadur Singh.
While searching vigorously by the team, the accused Abhishek Thakur’s age 24 years, Jittu alias Jitendra Bhumiya age 20 years, Pooja Thakur age 40 years, Kaushalya Rajak age 55 years and 16 year old child, all residents of village Kasahi were arrested, the knife used in the incident was seized, wooden sticks at the instigation of other above mentioned accused. In this case, all the above mentioned people are being arrested and presented before the Court.
