The MP Government has ordered probe into the fire incident by the Jabalpur divisional commissioner (revenue).
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Jabalpur divisional commissioner (revenue) is instructed to conduct probe into the fire incident in the hospital. He said the divisional commissioner will find out reasons how the incident occured and also punish those found guilty.
Eight persons killed including 5 patients and 3 staff members while nine rescued in a fire in the New Life Multispecialty Hospital in Jabalpur, MP on Monday.
Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Siddarth Bahuguna told the local reporters said eight persons were killed in the fire accident.
In preliminary investigation the cause of accident occurred during switch over of power supply from the generator set after the main power supply went off, he said.
District Collector Illayaraja T told local reporters that nine persons rescued in a fire at the hospital.
He said the team will probe the reasons for exact cause of the fire.
The injured are admitted in the medical college hospital and other hospital, he said.
The state government has announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50000 to seriously injured. The government will also bear the cost of complete treatment of the injured.
The chief minister has condoled the deaths in the fire accident. He earlier instructed the Chief Secretary and other officials to monitor the developments in the incidents.
