On 13 october Saturday, An actor-model Kate Sharma registered a police complaint against filmmaker Subhash Ghai, accusing him of inappropriate attitude . In her complaint, Sharma alleged that the filmmaker asked her to give him a massage and later tried to kiss her. “Actor Kate Sharma files police complaint against filmmaker Subhash Ghai; says, ‘he called me at his house on August 6. 5-6 ppl were present there, he asked me to give him massage. I massaged him & went to wash my hands, he followed me, called me to his room to talk & tried to kiss me,” tweeted ANI.
Furthermore, there are reports that the actress also accused Subhash of threatening her. Kate Sharma as saying, “I told him that I wanted to leave but he threatened me and said that he will not launch me if I do not stay with him for the night.”
In response to the same, Subash Ghai took to Twitter saying that he is a great supporter of the #MeToo Movement and his lawyers will take care of the matter. “I am surely a grt supporter of d metoo movement n women empowerment bt hope that those taking undue advantage of the movement do not end up diluting it 4their own short time fame. I feel grief if some one trying 2harm my reputation. Any way my lawyers will take care of matter.”
Earlier, Subhash Ghai was accused of rape by an anonymous woman alleging that he spiked her drink and then sexually assaulted her. Denying the allegations, Ghai told PTI, “It is sad that it is becoming a fashion to malign anyone known, bringing some stories from past without any truth or blown up false allegations if all. I deny strictly and firmly all false allegations like these.”
Apart from him, names like Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl and Nana Patekar among others are accused by women under the #MeToo and #TimesUp Movement.
