Union Home and Cooperatives Minister Amit Shah has said that the double-engine government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Center and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh is determined to make the life of every poor happy. Prime Minister Modi has done many important works for the development of scheduled castes and tribes. The former central government used to spend Rs 24 thousand crores every year for the SC-ST category, the Modi government has increased this amount manifold to Rs 90 thousand crores. Earlier there used to be only 167 Eklavya Vidyalayas, the Modi government has increased this number to 690. Similarly, earlier there was a provision of Rs 1000 crore for SC-ST category students, which has been increased to Rs 2833 crore by the Modi government.

Shah attended the Kol Tribe Mahakumbh on the occasion of Mata Shabri Jayanti at Maitri Park in Satna today. It was presided over by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Shah and Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated the Mahakumbh by lighting the lamp. Along with this, he laid the foundation stone of 70 development works worth Rs 507 crore and inaugurated 18 works worth Rs 26 crore. In the function, benefits were also distributed to the beneficiaries under various public welfare schemes. In the beginning, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister offered flowers to the idols of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Shabri. At the same time, kanya pujan was also performed.

Shah said that today is the historic day of Mata Shabri’s birth anniversary. Mata Shabri inspired people to worship Ram for ages through her devotion, I bow down to such a holy land. He said that I got the opportunity to come here three times. Every time I came here, I took back with me new energy and consciousness. Mata Shabri does good for all, all of you in her proximity are fortunate.

Shah said that Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made me lay the foundation and dedicate works worth crores of rupees today. Today, I would like to congratulate Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has taken a pledge for the people of Kol Samaj to fulfill their needs. He said that earlier when I visited Jabalpur Chief Minister Shri Chouhan had made 14 announcements for the tribals. I am happy that Shri Chouhan has done the work of upliftment of the tribal class by implementing all his announcements. Shri Shah said that the Central and Madhya Pradesh governments are working to improve the lives of the poorest of the poor under Antyodaya.

Shah said that during the Corona period, Prime Minister Shri Modi has secured the lives of the countrymen by getting anti-Corona vaccines free of cost in the entire country. Along with this, the Prime Minister also decided to provide 5 kg food grains per month free of cost to every poor person, got toilets constructed in the homes of 10 crore people, and provided gas cylinders to 3 crore people. 80 crore people of the country are being supplied 5 kg of food grains for two and a half years free of cost. Referring to the Kol revolt of 1832, he said that the Modi government is working to build martyrs’ memorials in the country. In the last 5 years, Rs 200 crore was spent on the construction of 80 tribal monuments. Prime Minister Shri Modi has done what the country could not do in 70 years. This is the first time in the country that the entire tribal community has been honored by making Smt. Draupadi Murmu, the daughter of a poor tribal community, the President of India.

Chouhan spent Rs 5 crore to build memorials for Raghunath Shah and Shankar Shah and has implemented many schemes. Congratulating Chouhan, Shah said that under his leadership, the state is achieving new dimensions of progress. Chouhan is a popular public leader.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that ending injustice is religion. Mata Shabri’s wholehearted devotion towards Lord Shri Ram became immortal. Chief Minister remembered the union of Maiya Shabri and Lord Shri Ram. He said that the story of Maa Shabri and Lord Ram gives the message that governance and administration reaching out to the last person, is the way for Ram Rajya. This story gives the message of ending injustice. The story also gives the message of fulfilling the wish of the mother.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is becoming glorious, magnificent, prosperous, corruption-free and is ending injustice. India has to reach new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. Pucca houses were given to the poor by the Modi government. Besides, facility of free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh through Ayushman card is provided and Article 370 was abolished in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed the determination of the state government to establish the progress and pride of the Kol society. He said that the Kol Garhi of Kol rulers in Teonthar tehsil of Rewa district would be renovated at a cost of Rs. 3 and half crore. The boundary wall of the fort will be made, the statue of Maiya Shabri will be installed and lastly the oil painting of Kol Raja will be made. The culture, costumes, customs and history of the Kol tribe will also be shown in the Kol Garhi complex.

Chouhan said that the sisters of Kol Samaj will also be given a dietary grant of Rs. one thousand per month for nutritious food. Along with this, arrangements for training and coaching will also be made for the students of the society to prepare for competitive examinations. Post-graduate tribal hostel will be set-up at Rewa district headquarters and Kol tribal girls hostel in Satna.

Chouhan said that the government will provide the guarantee of providing loan from the bank to the youths of Kol tribe who are doing their own business and will also give interest subsidy. Plots will be made available to all the brothers and sisters of the Kol tribe. No person of Kol tribe will remain without land. The work of reconstruction and protection of the religious places of the Gods and Goddesses of Kol tribe will be conducted. The ahatas of liquor shops will be closed in the state from April 1.

Chouhan said that many schemes are being run for the tribal children to progress in higher education. Medical and engineering studies have been started in Hindi medium, so that the children of poor tribal families can also progress. Ration cards and Ayushman cards have been made for the left out eligible beneficiaries through the CM Jan-Seva Abhiyan. This work is going on continuously through the Vikas Yatra.

Chouhan said that the 14 announcements made for the upliftment of the tribal society at the Shankarshah-Raghunath Shah birth anniversary programme in Jabalpur in the dignified presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been implemented. In Madhya Pradesh, the PESA rule has been implemented to give rights of water, forest and land to the tribals.

Member of Parliament Ganesh Singh said that the first Kol rebellion took place in the 18th century against the British in the freedom struggle. Today, the Union Home Minister Shah and Chief Minister Chouhan have boosted the pride of the Kol community by honouring them in the Mahakumbh. Chairman of Coal Development Authority Ramlal Routel and MLA Sharad Kol also addressed. Union Minister of State Faggan Singh Kulaste, Forest Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Castes Welfare Minister Meena Singh, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ramkhelawan Patel, MP Khajuraho V.D. Sharma, public representatives and a large number of people participated in the programme. The guests were welcomed with traditional folk dances.
