The rail route track on the Tori-Latehar segment in Dhanbad division was supposedly blown in a bomb impact on Friday 12 PM influencing rail traffic, authorities said Friday morning.
The episode came hours in front of Bharat Bandh called by the prohibited CPI (Maoists) on November 20 to fight the capture of their top ideologue Prashant Bose and his significant other and focal council part Sheela Marandi by Jharkhand Police a week ago.
“Rail tracks on both here and there line have been harmed in the supposed bomb impact at around 12.40 am. The matter is being researched. Remembering travelers’ security, two traveler trains have been dropped while a couple of others have been redirected,” said Rajesh Kumar, representative, East Central Railway.
The authority said a help van has arrived at the spot from Barkakana and work is in progress to reestablish traffic at the soonest, he added.
Latehar director of police Anjani Anjan said the occurrence is by all accounts of an IED impact. “At first sight it seems as though an IED impact. The harm is confined to the rail tracks. The police are fully on guard in wake of the Bandh call. We are researching the case further,” he said.
