A Thane court today ordered the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad to promptly hand over all records and papers in the Mansukh Hiren death case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA was asked by the Ministry of Home Affairs three days ago to take over the death case that is related to the explosive-laden SUV that was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia.
Hiran, the driver of the vehicle discovered with explosive materials outside the home of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, was found dead in Thane on March 5.
Maharashtra ATS was in charge of the investigation into his death before the MHA handed it over to the NIA on March 20.
In a press conference on March 23, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) said that Sachin Vaze was the conspirator and played a key role in the Mansukh Hiren death case.
On Tuesday, ATS Director Jaijeet Singh spoke at a press conference. He revealed key information about the cases and stated that there was sufficient evidence to support Vaze’s involvement in the case.
In connection with the murder investigation, ATS has confiscated a Volvo car from Daman, he said.
According to National Investigation Agency (NIA) reports, the arrested Mumbai Police official Sachin Vaze, whose name came up in the Mansukh Hiren death case, allegedly used a false Aadhar card while booking a room in a 5-star hotel in Mumbai.
According to NIA reports, Vaze booked a hotel room in Mumbai between February 16 and 20. In the hotel’s CCTV video, he was also seen carrying five bags into the building.
Vaze, an Assistant Police Inspector with the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), was arrested on February 25 in connection with an inquiry into the recovery of explosives from a car parked near Mukesh Ambani’s home.
After his name came up in the Mansukh Hiren death investigation, Vaze was assigned to the Citizen Facilitation Centre at Mumbai Police Headquarters. In connection with his suspected role and participation in positioning the explosives-laden vehicle outside the residence of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, he has been detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) until March 25.
