Once again, a political scuffle was witnessed between BJP and TMC during the celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Kolkata on Jan 23. PM Narendra Modi and Mamta Banerjee shared the same dais during a grand official celebration at Victoria Memorial’s eastern lawn, Kolkata. The event which came just months before the Vidhan Sabha elections in West Bengal, was not spared from the political color.
Didi got humiliated when a section of the crowd chanted “Jai Shri Ram” before she started her speech. Angered Mamata protested and said, “This is not a political event. I am grateful to the PM for organizing this in Kolkata. But it does not suit you to invite someone and then insult that person. I refuse to speak as a mark of protest. Jai Hind! Jai Bangla!”
