Today, the festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated with great fame in the country today. In the Shiva temples, devotees have been tilting in the morning. Shivling have been decorated with flowers and garlands. Shiva devotee is engaged in queues in the temple from early morning.
21 years of coincidence
This year, Mahashivratri will celebrate for two days (13th and 14th February). Pradosha will also fall on this day. Such a coincidence came after 21 years. Mahashivaratri is special day in different almanacs.
According to the scholars, Chaturdashi will begin at 10.21 pm. Therefore, for 12 minutes, there will be a period of neutral time for 1.2 minutes. With this 21 years later occurance of this rare occasion, amazing coincidence is taking place. Pradosha will also take place on the same day of Mahashivaratri. On 14th February the quadrant will end at 12.11 pm.
On this day, thousands of devotees pray to God for the fulfillment of their wishes by performing Jalabhishekas on 12 Jyotirlings set up in different regions of India.
