Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is continuously reaching new heights of development.
According to his vision, infrastructure is developing rapidly in the state, leading to overall upliftment of the state.
To strengthen and modernize the infrastructure of Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, as announced by him in the seminar held in Bhopal on October 19, has approved road construction schemes worth more than Rs 20,000 crore in the state.
Action is being speeded up to get these projects off the ground soon. In the coming days, 27 projects starting at a cost of about Rs 20 thousand 403 crore will be utilized for the expansion of the roads and routes of the state, making the traffic smoother and roads safer.
Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh expressed gratitude to Union Minister Shri Gadkari and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said that this gift is a big achievement for the state, and will boost infrastructure development of the state. Road construction will start in various areas of the state to improve traffic and establish new dimensions of economic and social progress. These ambitious projects will accelerate development in Madhya Pradesh and make travel easier and safer for citizens.
Proposed Projects under NHAI:
• Betul-Khandwa section (NH-347B): A 2-lane plus powered section will be constructed from Betul to Mohda (90 km) and from Mohda to Barakund at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.
• Deshgaon-Khargone section (NH-347B): A budget of Rs 1,700 crore has been allocated to convert this 65 km long road into 4 lanes.
• Khargone-Barwani section (NH-347B): There is a provision of Rs 1,000 crore in this 35 km project.
• Baretha Ghat (NH-46): This 20 km stretch of Tiger Corridor in Itarsi-Betul section will be converted to 4-lane, costing Rs 550 crore.
• Salkanpur-Nasrullaganj-Budhani-Bari stretch: This 41 km long portion has been fixed for Rs 650 crore.
• Jhabua-Raipuria-Petlawad section: There is a provision of Rs 650 crore for this 50 km long project.
• Betul-Khandwa Package-4 (NH-347B): This 33 km long project will be completed for Rs 381 crore.
• Sagar-Kanpur (Package-3): This 55 km road from Satiya Ghat to Angor village will be built for Rs 1,006 crore.
• Sagar-Kanpur (Package-4): The cost of this 44 km portion from Angor village to MP/UP border is Rs 996 crore.
• Gwalior City Bypass: Rs 1,005 crore will be spent on this 29 km long bypass in the western region.
• Orchha-Jhansi Greenfield Highway Link: The length of this link connecting NH-26 to NH-76 will be 14 km and its cost is Rs 491 crore.
• Sagar Bypass (Sagar Link Road-02): The cost of this 26 km long bypass is Rs 756 crore.
• Jabalpur-Damoh (Package-1 & 3): An expenditure of Rs 1,773 crore will be incurred on this 80 km long project from Jabalpur to Damoh.
• Rewa-Sidhi section (NH-39): Rs 1,500 crore will be spent on this 30 km long section.
The estimated budget of the total 612 km long projects under NHAI is Rs 13,658 crore.
Proposed Projects under Ministry of Road Transport and Highways:
• Mandla Bypass to Nainpur Bypass (NH-543): This 46 km long section will cost Rs 642 crore.
• Sendhwa-Khetiya (NH-752G): This 57 km long portion will cost Rs 725 crore.
• Tikamgarh-Orchha (NH-539): This 75 km project will cost Rs 926 crore.
• Shahgarh-Tikamgarh (NH-539): This 80.1 km long road will cost Rs 951 crore.
• Anjad-Barwani (NH-347B): This 20.25 km long project will cost Rs 250 crore.
• Chanderi-Pichhore (NH-346): This 55.15 km long stretch will cost Rs 452 crore which also includes three greenfield bypasses.
• Sirmaur-Dabhora (NH-135B): The budget of this 38.29 km long road will be Rs 300 crore.
• Powai-Saleha-Jasso-Nagoud (NH-943): The remaining work on this 12.49 km long portion will cost Rs 56 crore.
• Betul-Paratwada (NH-548C): There is a provision of Rs 580 crore for this 62.16 km road.
• Nainpur Bypass to Balaghat Bypass (NH-543): This 74.35 km long section will cost Rs 860 crore.
• Lonia (Madhya Pradesh/Maharashtra border) to Burhanpur (NH-347C): Rs 100 crore will be spent on this 8.8 km project.
• Singrauli-Chitrangi-Bagdara (NH-135C): The cost of this 70.1 km long road is Rs 903 crore.
The estimated budget of total of 616 km long projects under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is Rs 6,745 crore.
Approved Projects
• Projects already approved in the financial year 2024-25 which are in progress in different parts of the state.
• Ayodhya Nagar Bypass (NH-46 to NH-146): The cost of this 16 km long bypass is Rs 1,219 crore.
• Gyaraspur-Rahatgarh (NH-146): This 36 km long project will cost Rs 620 crore.
• Rahatgarh-Barkhedi (NH-146): This 11 km project will be completed for Rs 450 crore.
• Vidisha-Bhopal (NH-146): Rs 1,096 crore will be spent on this 52 km long road.
• Vidisha-Gyarspur (NH-146): The cost of this 32 km long project is Rs 543 crore.
• Jabalpur Ring Road (Package-5): There is a budget of Rs 620 crore for this 18 km ring road.
• Agra-Gwalior Greenfield: The cost of this 88 km long highway is Rs 4,821 crore.
• Various road construction works worth Rs 9,369 crore are in progress in the state under centrally approved projects.
