Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh ranks first in water conservation and management in the country, this is a big achievement. Madhya Pradesh is first in the country in many areas, we have been leading in cleanliness for some years. It is a matter of pride and glory for all of us. Irrigation capacity has increased in the state, we are arranging irrigation with pressurized pipes in place of canal irrigation to use every drop of water, due to which irrigation is possible over 1.75 times more area with the available water. Along with this, a network of water structures has been laid in the state. Madhya Pradesh has been rewarded by the Government of India for these works only. Water Resources, Panchayat and Rural Development and Narmada Valley Development Department deserve congratulations for this achievement. CM Chouhan was addressing the ministers before the Cabinet meeting. Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat presented the citation and symbol of the fourth National Water Award-2022 received from the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to the Chief Minister Chouhan.
Water Resources Minister ilawat said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Chouhan ever since the construction of irrigation projects in the form of micro irrigation schemes have stared, more water is being saved in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh was honoured with the first prize in the category of Best State by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation of Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to honour its excellent efforts in the field of water conservation/management.
