Six UK version of coronavirus cases found in Indore; night curfew probable if the condition does not change in three days says CM Shivraj.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, said on Friday that if the COVID-19 cases in Indore and Bhopal continue to rise in the next three days, night curfews will be enforced in both cities beginning Monday.
The decision was reached following the CM’s chaired COVID-19 condition analysis meeting in Bhopal on Friday. Six COVID-19 patients in Indore tested positive for the extremely infectious UK strain of the killer virus, and novel Coronavirus cases continue to increase dramatically in Indore and Bhopal, prompting the conference.
Six people have tested positive for the UK strain, which spreads more quickly than other strains. Virus cases are also on the rise in many districts across the state, especially in Indore and Bhopal. Indore has reported an average of 151 cases per day over the last week, while Bhopal, the state capital, has reported an average of 78 cases per day, followed by 16 cases in Jabalpur, 12 cases in Betul, and 11 cases each in Ujjain and Chhindwara. Since the number of cases in Indore has doubled in the last 15 days, the CM has ordered stern action in both Indore and Bhopal if the condition does not improve in the next three days.
“In the last few days, cases of coronavirus have been steadily rising in Indore,” said Indore Divisional Commissioner Pawan Sharma to the media. “The UK strain of SARS-CoV-2 has been detected in six samples sent.”
“Because this strain is quickly spreading, we’ve agreed to relaunch the ‘Roko Toko’ initiative in full force. People would be taught the importance of maintaining social distance and wearing masks as a result of this,” he added.
On Friday evening, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a summary of the Covid-19 situation in Indore. According to PTI, he ordered officials to step up efforts to stop the virus from spreading. The meeting also included Health Minister Prabhu Ram Chaudhary and Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang.
