Madhya Pradesh is included in the leading states of the country in the implementation of the Madhya Pradesh Surrogacy (Regulation) Act-2021.
This information was given in the meeting of the State Aided Reproductive Technology and Surrogacy Board held at Mantralaya on Monday under the chairmanship of Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chowdhary.
It was informed that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to have notified the State Board, District Appropriate Authority and District Appellate Officer under the Act. 74 institutions have been registered under the Act in the state.
These institutions include ART Bank, ART Level-1 Clinic, ART Level-2 Clinic and Surrogacy Clinic. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country in determining the process flow and various formats for the surrogacy process in the Act.
MLA Rajshree Rudra Pratap Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Mohammad Suleman, Health Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, Members Dr. Randhir Singh, Dr. Virendra Shah, Dr. Aruna Kumar, Dr. Priya Chittawar, in the board meeting. Veena Dani and Prarthana Mishra were present. Joint Director Regulation Dr. Pragya Tiwari gave a presentation on the status of implementation of the Act in the state.
