Madhya Pradesh, which went to polls for sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 12 recorded an average turnout of 64.9% in eight parliamentary constituency seats.

In Madhya Pradesh, BJP’s Pragya Thakur and Congress veterans Digvijaya Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia were in the race to the parliament in 6th phase of Lok Sabha elections.
Digvijaya Singh is a registered voter of his hometown Raghogarh in Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat, however, he was in Bhopal and not Rajgarh on May 12. He didn’t cast his vote.
Pragya Thakur casted her vote in the morning at a polling booth in Rivera Town area in Bhopal.
The highest voter turnout was recorded in Rajgarh with 74% and Vidisha with 70.80%, while in state capital Bhopal a turnout of 65.69% was recorded.
“Sources said there was higher turnout in BJP held seats and lower turnout in Congress held seats,” reported India Today.
Jyotiraditya Scindia is seeking re-election from Guna seat, where he casted his vote at a booth.
The next round of polling, the last in the state for the 2019 national elections, would be held on May 19 in the seventh phase of the election.
Results of Lok Sabha elections will be declared on May 23.
