In Madhya Pradesh, over 3,000 junior Doctors have resigned after the state High Court ordered them to cease their protest and return their work within 24 hours.
The protesting doctors are stubborn, announcing that they would appeal the decision. The four-day strike had been labeled “illegal” by the HC.
According to Dr Arvind Meena, president of the Madhya Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (MPJDA), around 3,000 junior doctors working in the state’s six government medical institutions have tendered their resignations to the dean of their individual institutions.
He stated that the strike, which began on Monday, will continue until their demands are met. Junior Doctors have made a number of demands to the state government, including a raise in their stipend and free care for themselves and their families if they get the Coronavirus infection.
According to Meena, the state government has already cancelled their enrolment for the third year PG programme, and as a result, they will not be able to take the exams.
He further stated that the MPJDA will file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the HC’s decision. Members of the Medical Officers Association and the Federation of Resident Doctors Association would join their protest.
