President Draupadi Murmu presented the Platinum Award for Digital Initiatives at the grassroots level to e-Vivechna App of State Crime Records Bureau of Madhya Pradesh at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
The President gave this award at the Digital India Awards 2022 function. Chanchal Shekhar, Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau along with his team received the award. Union Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, Communications and Railways Ashwini Vaishnav was also present at the function.
Madhya Pradesh is pioneering in the country by successfully operating the e-Vivechna app with more than 80,000 case diaries. This app offers transparency in police investigations. The App facilitates the Investigating Officer to collect evidence and statements from the crime scene itself and link it to the relevant FIR. The evidence and statements collected are geo-tagged and time-stamped, so they cannot be tampered with later. This has also increased the confidence of the courts in the police investigation.
