In the 8th Smart City Expo held in New Delhi, smart cities of Madhya Pradesh have received 7 awards out 16 categories.

Smart cities Indore and Jabalpur bagged 2 awards each while Bhopal, Sagar and Ujjain got one award each. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has congratulated the officers and employees of the Smart City who received the award.

Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Bharat Yadav has informed that Smart City Indore has received award in Best Start up and Best Water Management category, Jabalpur in Governance and Economy (311 Apps) and City Leader (Best Smart City CEO) category.

Similarly, Smart City Bhopal has received special award for Smart Parking Category, Sagar for Clean City Category and Ujjain for Ujjain Mahakal Mahalok.

It may be mentioned that the 8th Smart City India-2023 Expo was organized from March 27 to 29 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Nominations were taken from January to February 2023 in 16 categories for the award.

The nominations were invited for Governance and Economy Award, Smart Urban Mobility, Best Water Management, Best City Leader, Best Health Care Initiative, Clean City Award, Digital City Award, Public Private Partnership Award, Safe City Award, Smart City of the Year, Smart Energy Project, Smart Waste Disposal Award, Special Category, Best Startup Initiative, Smart Parking Initiative and PPP Initiative Category.
