On June 24, which is tomorrow, be ready to see the Strawberry Moon.
The Moon will not appear crimson or pink. Strawberry Moon is the full moon in June, which is the last full moon of the Spring. It rises just before the sun sets below the horizon. According to NASA, the full moon will be visible for around 3 days around this period.
The Full Moon will occur opposite the Sun in Earth-based longitude at 2:40 PM EDT on June 24, 2021. Much of the Earth will be on Thursday, from IST eastward to Line Islands Time. In the International Dateline, it will be on Friday morning for the rest of the world.
From early morning on Wednesday through early morning Saturday, the Moon will be fullest for three days. The Strawberry Moon is also known as Honey Moon, an old European name for the Full Moon in June.
Honey Moon was named after the time when honey was ready to be gathered from hives to produce mead.
Strawberry Moon gets its name from the very short strawberry harvest season in northern North America. As per the Old Farmer’s Almanac, some Europeans refer to this full Moon as the Rose Moon. Because of the color of the full Moon at this time of year.
According to some stories, the name comes from the roses that blossom at this time of year. The full Moon closest to the summer solstice shines the most, especially at Europe’s higher latitudes. Because it is the color of the rising sun, this can give the full Moon a reddish or rose tint.”
