The Katni district administration has came out with a career guidance booklet tagged ‘Career Margdarshika’ for the job aspirants.
The booklet carries information of various academic courses of higher education.
District Collector Avi Prasad took the initiative to publish the book keeping in view the need of the students who sometimes does not have access to the information on which academic course to study after completion of schooling.
This book is especially meant for class 12th students.
Passing the 12th examination is an important milestone in student life.
During his (District Collector Prasad) visit to the schools for improvement of results, while discussion with the students, he was realized that most of the students are struggling with the problem of what to do after 12th.
In such a situation, Collector Prasad, understanding the state of mind and emotions of the students, he has prepared a career guide booklet to solve their dilemmas.
After 12th, most of the students do not understand which subject they should choose.
Many students find themselves standing at a crossroads.
On one hand they have dreams, and on the other hand they have the expectations of their parents.
In such a situation, if you are also wondering what to do after 12th? And parents are also thinking, then this career guide book will prove to be of great use in guiding the students towards a fulfilling and prosperous future.
Presently the situation was such that many bright and talented students are deprived of many specific fields and courses for which they are actually eligible, due to lack of information about career options after 12th, he felt.
With the aim to help the youth of the district to choose better career options, a career guide booklet has been prepared by the district administration with the help of the Gugalia Charitable Trust.
So that the youth can improve their future by getting information about all the options without any confusion and choosing the area of their interest and choice.
The information provided in this booklet has been verified through a special team of the Principal of Government Tilak College, Katni. Soft copy of this booklet is being made available to the students of Katni district.
In the coming days, more copies of this booklet will be printed and made available to all the hostels and all the higher secondary schools.
So that students and youth can make maximum use of it and choose their desired career.
This booklet covers subjects like Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business Management, Commerce, Computer Applications, Design and Fine Arts, Army, Navy and Air Force Recruitment, Engineering and Technology, Hotel Management, Tourism, Law, Mass Communication, Medicine and Surgery, Paramedical Science, Performing Arts, ITI, Polytechnic, Drone Sector along with other useful and cutting-edge courses have been included.

In the booklet prepared by the district administration Katni, Khajuraho MP Vishnudatt Sharma, Shahdol MP Himadri Singh, Vijayraghavgarh MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak, Mudwara MLA Sandeep Jaiswal, Bahoriband MLA Pranay Prabhat Pandey and Barwara MLA Dhirendra Bahadur Singh were present to the students of the district and gave wishes to the students for their bright future.
