The Karnataka government stated on Sunday that the Covid-19 restrictions will be relaxed further in the state, enabling multiplexes and auditoriums to operate at 50% occupancy. The night curfew, however, will remain in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
After a meeting with key ministers and officials at Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s house, the revised Covid-19 procedures were released.
Cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, rangamandiras, auditoriums, and other similar establishments are allowed to operate with 50% of their seating capacity if they follow Covid’s proper behavior and SOPs.
Colleges and institutions affiliated with the Department of Higher Education can reopen with Covid-19 procedures starting July 26.
The colleges/institutions will only accept students, teachers, and non-teaching/other personnel who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination. Students will have the option of attending.
With Covid-19 proper behavior, every skill-development training, including long-term technical courses, is authorized. The institutions will only accept students, teachers, and non-teaching/other personnel who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, Karnataka recorded 1,869 new Covid-19 cases and 42 fatalities on Saturday. The number of active cases in the state has decreased to 30,082 from above six lakhs on May 15.
Since April 27, Karnataka has been subject to Covid-19 limitations. On May 10, at the height of the country’s second wave, the restrictions were tightened. However, as the number of instances has decreased, the state has progressively eased the restrictions, beginning on June 14, then on June 21, July 5, and ultimately on Sunday.
