Shiv Sena decides to contest Lok Sabha and Assembly elections alone
Shiv Sena passed a resolution on Tuesday not to combine with the BJP and fight alone for next year’s Lok Sabha and upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut presented this proposal and said that the BJP has been discouraging the party for the past three years. The resolution passed by the unanimous resolution was passed in the party’s national executive meeting in Mumbai.
Rout said, “I presented the proposal for fighting the party’s 2019 Lok Sabha and subsequent assembly elections alone.” He said that in the state, at least 25 Lok Sabha seats (out of total 48) and 125 assembly Seats (out of a total of 288) will win. Rout said, “BJP had aligned with Shiv Sena in the name of Hindutva and the party maintained patience because of Hindutva. But for the last three years, the BJP has been defying Shiv Sena on the strength of power. ” Senior Sena leaders supported Rout’s proposal.
Congress said that people do not take Shiv Sena seriously
Opposition Congress and NCP junked the announcement of Shiv Sena’s announcement of contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections alone and questioned why it still remains a part of BJP-led government. Maharashtra Congress spokesman Sachin Sawant described Shiv Sena’s decision as “ridiculous” and “irrational”. He said, “Shiv Sena is a partner of the government and is criticizing its policies. The party has completed the century of declaration of being out of government but has not done so yet. People do not take Shivsena seriously. “
