Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh: India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C45) on Monday successfully launched an electronic intelligence satellite EMISAT and 28 international customer satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR.
First it was A-SAT for India and now EMISAT.
The successful launch by ISRO, PSLV-C45 places EMISAT and 28 co-passenger satellites in its orbit.
The 436 kg – DRDO developed – EMISAT is based on ISRO’s Indian mini satellite-2 bus platform will be used to monitor and locate enemy radars.
It is being said that it will bolster India’s defence capabilities.
“The 28 foreign customer nano-satellites would be released into different orbits nearly two hours later, after restarting the fourth stage of the rocket,” said ISRO.
ISRO has scheduled about 30 missions for this year, including launch vehicles and space crafts. The missions include Chandrayaan-2 (space agency’ mission to the moon).
