The high-level inquiry committee set up to probe the Satpura Bhawan fire accident will submit its inquiry report to the state government in two days. The inquiry committee visited the third to sixth floors of the west wing of the fire-affected Satpura Bhawan for the third time at 12.30 pm on Wednesday. A total of 14 samples were collected for forensic examination, which were sent to the State Level Forensic Science Laboratory at Sagar for examination. Instructions have been given to keep the collected samples sealed and safe after testing. The statements of 7 employees-officers were recorded by the inquiry committee on Monday. Statements of about 20 employees-officers including senior engineers and fire safety inspector of E&M wing of Public Works Department were registered today and yesterday.

The state government has been informed to take necessary action regarding the structural strength assessment of the Satpura Bhawan by the inquiry committee and to start the offices of the eastern wing of the Satpura Bhawan unaffected by the fire.
