The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment.
Sujoy Ghosh, the director of the suspense thriller has impressed the audience as well as film critics. The movie has earned Rs 5.94 crore on the opening day.
Ghosh told Bangalore Mirror, “I’ve made a lot of changes, for me, it was a fresh story written with Indian sensibilities in mind. I understand some may know the premise, but at the end of the day, it’s the approach that matters,” when asked about ‘Badla’ being a remake of the Spanish movie ‘The Invisible Guest’.
He added, “There will be people who would watch this film to see how I’ve adapted the original film and also those who aren’t even aware that this is an adaptation.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the latest figures of the thriller with a tweet that read, “#Badla goes from strength to strength on Day 1… Picked up speed late afternoon onwards at metros, with appreciable growth in evening… Strong word of mouth has come into play… Should witness substantial growth on Day 2 and 3… Fri ₹ 5.04 cr. India biz. Gross: ₹ 5.94 cr.”
Badla also features Manav Kaul, Amrita Singh, and Tony Luke among others in significant roles.
