The Delhi Police arrested two men from Bharatpur district of Rajasthan for allegedly making “sextortion calls” to Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel.
Patel’s personal secretary reported the matter to the Delhi Police in the last week of June. The arrests were made in the first week of July.
The Delhi Police reportedly lodged an FIR and arrested two persons named Mohammad Wakil and Mohammad Sahib. The mastermind, Md Sabir, is still absconding and a hunt is on to nab him, according to the reports.
On preliminary investigation it was found by the police that the accused persons are part of organised “sextortion” racket.
A “sextortion” call – is intended to blackmail an individual with threat to make the video recording of sexual nature public on the mobile phone.
Patel while in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh received a WhatsApp video call from an unknown number in which the caller played a porn clip.
The Delhi police registered the complaint of cheating on Patel’s complaint.
