The citizens donating money online for fodder, straw, animal feed on the portal of the Gau-Samvardhan Board is exempted from income tax.

Madhya Pradesh Gau-Palan and Gau Samvardhan Board executive council chairman Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri said any one can donate money online for fodder, straw, animal feed on the portal of Gau-Samvardhan Board. The amount donated will be exempt from income tax.

Since ancient times in the Indian culture, a collective effort has been made to keep the importance of cow intact in every era on basis of various beliefs, he said.

Not only the religious aspect of the cow, but its economic, social, family, agricultural, ayurvedic, environmental and scientific aspect is also very strong, he said.

Many scientific researches were conducted on the native cow breed in India and abroad on cow dung, cow urine and Panchagavya (milk, curd, ghee, butter milk), he said.

The significance of a cow is not based on the quantity of milk it produces, but on the quality of the milk, he said.

Indigenous cow breeds are the best in terms of quality, he said.

The population of the state is about seven and a half crores, if even one crore people grow grass for fodder daily, it will be very helpful to save cow progeny and to make the gaushalas self-reliant, he said.

He appealed the people to take a pledge to keep aside Rs.10 per day for grass on occasion of the commencement of Hindu Nav Varsh.

The seer said for convenience of the people, an innovation has been made by the Gau-Samvardhan Board to donate one roti every day.

People should save Rs.10 daily in a piggy bank after one year the amount of Rs 3650 will be collected, which one can donate to nearest Gaushala or through Madhya Pradesh Gau-Samvardhan Board. This will enable better care of the cows being looked after in the Gaushalas functioning across the state.
