A 17-year old girl died and 6 others were injured in an exceedingly blast in a very residential house in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, with officials saying the precise nature of the explosion wasn’t immediately clear.
The explosion came about within the house of Ghulam Ahmad Wani at Taratpora in Handwara area of the district around 8.45 pm, the officials said.
They said Shabnum Wani (17) died within the incident, while six others, all believed to be the relations of the house-owner, sustained injuries.
The injured are rushed to a hospital and therefore the police have started investigation into the character of the blast, the officials said.
They said police suspect the explosion was thanks to an LPG cylinder blast, but the precise cause are known in due course.
