The IMD predicts “light to very light” rainfall in the region over the next few days, with “break monsoon-like conditions” expected to arrive by mid-next week. According to IMD data, the first week of August has been mostly dry, with only a trace of rain falling in most parts of the national capital.
The monsoon arrived in Delhi on July 13, 16 days later than expected. The IMD predicted that the monsoon would arrive in the national capital by June 15 in June. It did, however, revise its predictions for monsoon arrival, claiming that break monsoon conditions developed, delaying the onset.
