Describing Ladli Bahna Yojana as a campaign to change the lives of women, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has promised that he will never let the respect and honour of sisters and daughters of the state diminish. He also announced that the applications of 21-year-old Bahnas would be filled soon and the corridor of the Udaipur temple of Basoda would be made. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, after dedicating and laying the foundation of various construction works worth Rs 142 crore 57 lakh and conducting bhoomi-pujan of 150-bed hospital in Ganj Basoda on Wednesday, was interacting with the women at Ladli Bahna Sammelan and distribution of Chief Minister’s land rights letters.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan started his interaction with the Bahnas with the song “Phoolon Ka Taron Ka Sabka Kehna Hai, Ek Hazaar Me Meri Behna Hai”. The Chief Minister told the Bahnas that I know that justice has not been done to you for years and being your brother, I have started changing the lives of the Bahnas ever since I became the Chief Minister. He reiterated that the scheme has been started by providing Rs one thousand to the Ladli Bahnas and as and when the money is arranged, I will increase the amount to Rs 3000 at the rate of Rs 250 each time and fulfil the mission of changing the lives of the women.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he has read a news item in the newspapers today that a man was not happy with his wife for bearing daughters. This discrimination is not right. Schemes like Ladli Lakshmi, Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana have been introduced to consider sons and daughters equal, and to treat them equally. The Chief Minister called upon everyone not to differentiate between sons and daughters.
The Chief Minister said that for the empowerment of sisters and daughters, he has reserved 50 per cent posts in the local bodies for women. Reservation of 30 percent in police and 50 percent in other jobs is also one such step taken in this direction. Today women are working for power and development by stepping out of their homes. He said that today 45 percent of the sisters have become the owners of property due to the registration of the property in their name.
The Chief Minister said that no poor person in the state would remain without land. Every homeless person would be given land to build a house. The collector informed that so far 2600 poor people have been given land rights letters in Vidisha district.
The Chief Minister said that money also boosts respect in family and society and it is his endeavour that the monthly income of the sisters should be at least Rs. 10 thousand by joining the livelihood mission and self-help groups. The effort is that none of the sisters should have tears in their eyes and they face any compulsion. Sisters should decide that they do not have to remain poor. The Chief Minister instructed the Collector to form self-help groups for the livelihood of the sisters.
The Chief Minister sought the support of the sisters of Ladli Bahna Sena in the implementation of schemes for women and children and said that the schemes would be implemented in a better way under the supervision of Ladli Sena. He stressed that unity among brothers and sisters will change the life. Injustice to sisters and daughters will not be tolerated. He also slammed the previous government for stopping schemes for farmers, women, youth and the poor. The Chief Minister told the elders that now arrangements have been made for their pilgrimage by airplane. Arrangements for irrigation, health, roads etc. have been made in Vidisha district under his own government.
Mentioning that the amount under the Kisan Samman Nidhi has been increased from Rs. 4 thousand to Rs. 6 thousand now, the Chief Minister said that poor farmers will now get Rs. 12 thousand in a year from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Kalyan Nidhi. Now every family will get a lot of money from various schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan asked the nephews and nieces to study hard, the nephews and nieces who topped the class 12th in the school would be given scooty from this session. The Chief Minister announced that an amount of Rs. 25,000 would be given soon for laptops to meritorious students. Earlier, Ladli Bahnas presented rakhi, sketch and safa etc. to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also distributed certificates of Mukhyamantri Bhu-Adhikar Yojana to Ladli Laxmis and the homeless.
MP Shri Ramakant Bhargava and MLA Smt. Leena Sanjay Jain also addressed. Sagar MP Shri Rajbir Singh, MLAs Sarvshri Umakant Bhargava, Harisingh Sapre and Smt. Rajshree Singh were present along with many public representatives.
