Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Vikas Yatra starting in the state from February 5 will give new momentum and confidence to the new creation and development of the state. All panchayat representatives including district panchayat presidents are participating in this campaign of development and public welfare. We are dedicated to the progress of the state and service to the people and the district panchayat presidents are an important link in this campaign of public welfare. District panchayat presidents have been given the status of Minister of State by the State Government. Instructions will be issued to all the collectors for duly following the protocol according to the post. The amount of honorarium and conveyance allowance etc. of district panchayat presidents will be hiked to one lakh rupees. Flag hoisting will be done by the district panchayat presidents on national festivals where ministers will not go.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the programme of the State Association of District Panchayat Presidents at Samatva Bhawan. Co-operative Minister Arvind Singh Bhadauria, President District Panchayat Sagar Hira Singh Rajput, President District Panchayat Panna Meena Raj Parmar along with district panchayat presidents of various districts were present.
Will communicate with district panchayat presidents every three months
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the district panchayat presidents are a powerful medium in the implementation of public welfare schemes and development works, they should carry forward the development works in the state with firm determination and effort like Bhagirath. Effective monitoring and watching over the quality of development activities continuously is imperative. It is our effort to develop a sense of enthusiasm, joy and positivity among the general public through the works of the state government. With the cooperation and activism of Panchayat representatives, the state government will create a new record of serving the public and development.
CM Chouhan said that mutual coordination between district panchayat president, MP, MLA, Janpad president and Sarpanch is necessary for effective implementation of development works and public welfare activities. Every possible effort will be made to make Panchayat Raj institutions more empowered in the state. A system of dialogue will be established with district panchayat presidents every three months.
Points raised by the District Panchayat President Association will be considered
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the decision will be taken after considering the points raised by the District Panchayat President Association including transfer of class three and four employees posted in the departments falling in the district panchayat area, discretionary development fund, approval of construction works and hike in the amount of 15th Finance Commission and other heads.
