The Supreme Court decision pushing the hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute to January, citing they have other priorities, RSS on Thursday said the Hindus felt “insulted” and the court should take a decision on it soon.
RSS leader Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi said the agitation for the construction of the Ram temple has been going on for 30 years and that people naturally expect it to be built soon.
“We are sure that the court will take note of people’s sentiments. But the wait for the court verdict has been quite long. We expected that good news will come before Diwali,” said Bhaiyyaji.
When asked how he viewed the other priorities of the top court, the RSS leader said “we are pained to know of it”.
“The issue of the faith of crores of Indians should be treated like this, is insulting. It is hurting, surprising. The Hindus feel insulted. We appeal to the court to take note of all these things and take a decision on it soon,” said Bhaiyyaji.
The leader asked if “such a sensitive issue is not taken up on a priority basis, then which issues will be?”
“We have always respected the Constitution. It is our expectation that the court should take note of it,” he added
