People may felt good that rain hits Gurgaon but as always it become problem for all later as heavy rain made road flood with water and traffic got trapped around the city. Heavy rain in parts of Delhi and Gurgaon this morning led to flooded roads and traffic jams this morning. Pictures on social media showed cars and bikes driving through flooded roads. A few schools in Gurgaon have announced a holiday due to the bad weather.
Morning rush hour traffic was affected because of flooding of arterial roads, prompting the Delhi Traffic Police to put out alerts on Twitter. #DelhiRains was one of the top trends on Twitter this morning.
Light showers started around 2 am on Monday night but gained momentum by 4 am. The light rain turned into a heavy downpour by 8 am,” said ARS Sangwan, Deputy Director National Capital Region.
Many social media users shared pictures of streets waterlogged after the rain.
