The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Haryana police, months after the arresting of Gurmeet Ram Rahim has achieved another milestone.
Dr. Mahinder Pal Singh aka Mahender Insan was arrested by the SIT after constantly hiding in the dera complex since the jailing of Ram Rahim.
Mahender is a part of the dera sect since 1995, and is said to have performed castration on more than 300 followers on Ram Rahim’s order, as per sources.
According to a report by The Times of India, he is among one of the seven people convicted at Sector 5 Panchkula police station after the violence on August 25, 2017.
Mahender was continuously hiding inside the dera campus since Gurmeet ram Rahim was jailed, reports India Today.
SIT believes that the arrest of the doctor will help them in the case, and will lead them to absconding aide Aditya Insan, who has a reward of 2 Lacs on him.
Ram Rahim was convicted by the special CBI court under a rape case, on 25th August 2017. The prosecution lead to spread of massive violence in Panchkula and Sirsa districts with 41 dead and a lot many injured.
The self proclaimed saint is serving a 20 year jail term, and is lodged in the Sunaria Jail, Rohtak.
